Top spring seals manufacturer and supplier
Rod seals factory supplier today: What are Mechanical Seals? Mechanical seals are devices that accommodate a rotating shaft while containing and preventing the fluid from leaking out of the enclosed housing. While different mechanical seal designs are available for pumping applications, most have three sealing points. Rotating face that rotates with the shaft; Stationary face fitted to the pump housing; Interface portion between the rotating and stationary face of the seal. These three sealing points ensure that the fluid contained within the pump housing does not leak while also preventing dust particles in the atmosphere from entering the housing. The mechanical seals are usually made up of different materials to prevent sticking. Typically, one side of the seal uses softer materials like carbon graphite, and the other is made of harder materials such as silicon carbide or ceramic alumina. However, hard materials are preferred for both surfaces if the pumping application involves abrasive fluids. In addition to the two materials, the sealing unit also comes with O-rings to seal the stationary face on the housing side and the rotating face on the shaft side. Springs are also used to keep both faces pressed. In most cases, the two faces of the seals are also lubricated to prevent friction and wear. Depending on the application, this fluid film can either be a separate lubricant or the process fluid itself. See even more info on rod seals manufacturer.
The Primary Seal – While two of the sealing points in a seal design are simple static seals, the seal between the rotating and stationary members needs a little more consideration. This primary seal is the basis of all seal design and is essential to its effectiveness. The primary seal is essentially a spring loaded vertical bearing – consisting of two extremely flat faces, one fixed, one rotating, running against each other. The seal faces are pushed together using a combination of hydraulic force from the sealed fluid and spring force from the seal design. In this way a seal is formed to prevent process leaking between the rotating (shaft) and stationary areas of the pump. The surfaces of the seal faces are super-lapped to a high degree of flatness; typically 2-3 Helium light-bands (0.00003” / 0.0008mm). If the seal faces rotated against each other without some form of lubrication they would wear and quickly fail due to face friction and heat generation. For this reason some form of lubrication is required between the rotary and stationary seal face; this is known as the fluid film.
Sealing performance over conventional O-rings is achieved by reducing particle generation, extending seal life and minimizing replacement time during preventive maintenance. Compared to traditional O-rings, this seal effectively reduces the number of dust particles generated during operation and extends the life of the machine with bonded seals installed. The seal has a working diameter range of 6.5 to 60.58mm.
Since the scraper seal is made of the special material, PTFE, it has an impurity immersion function. Therefore, when combined with the piston rod seal and the metal bushing, it can prevent damage to the piston rod and prevent the accumulation of oil pressure. It has a diameter range of 3-1600mm and a temperature range of -30°C + 200°C. The wiper scraper seal can operate at speeds of up to 5 m/s. It has high wear resistance, tear resistance, low-temperature resistance and good strength. Our wiper seals can be used in combination with piston seals and anti-wear rings to prevent oil in the cylinder from being mixed with foreign matter, which causes damage to the working seal. It is especially suitable for piston rods with a large diameter. Moreover, it has a wide range of applications, such as agricultural machinery, injection moulding machines, forklifts, cranes and so on.
Influence of flange form: Different flange forms require different gaskets. Smooth-faced flanges are generally only used for low pressure, with soft thin gaskets; under high pressure, if the strength of the flange is sufficient, smooth-faced flanges can also be used, but thick soft gaskets should be used, or inner belt reinforcement should be used. Wound gasket for ring or reinforcement ring. In this case, metal gaskets are also not suitable, because the required pressing force is too large, resulting in large deformation of the bolts, making the flange difficult to seal. If a metal gasket is to be used, the smooth surface should be reduced to reduce the contact area with the gasket. In this way, under the condition of the same bolt tension, the compressive stress of the reduced narrow smooth surface will increase.
Support and positioning The piston and piston rod are radially supported and positioned in the cylinder barrel. Isolate the two pairs of motion pairs of piston and cylinder, piston rod and guide sleeve to prevent direct scratches, abrasions and strains between the motion pairs. Especially when the motion pairs are all steel parts, they must be isolated, otherwise they will be easily strained. The guide belt also has an important role to reduce the friction and friction work between the moving parts, reduce the ineffective work and heat. Vibration absorption and noise reduction Reduce system vibration and noise. It is mainly filled with tetrafluoroethylene and phenolic cloth, and there are also a very small amount of polyoxymethylene, nylon and soft metal. Although construction machinery looks extremely complex, the common characteristics that can be summarized are: Usually work outdoors. The work site often changes, and some can move by themselves. The working environment is usually dusty or stained. Nowadays, construction machinery generally adopts hydraulic transmission, because hydraulic transmission has the following obvious advantages compared with mechanical transmission: The power-to-volume ratio is large and the location arrangement is easy. It can realize stepless speed change. It is easy to realize overload protection. Less shock, vibration and noise.
It is ideal for single-acting sealing of reciprocating piston rods or pistons with a wide operating pressure range of up to 20 MPa. The operating temperature range is also wide from -200°C to + 250°C. It has a diameters range from 3 mm to 1600 mm and a working speed of 5 m/s. The seal has a low coefficient of friction and the friction between the contact faces is minimal among all seal types. Moreover, the contact pressure between the mating surfaces is low. It can work without lubrication and is very wear resistant. And it has a long service life.
